Commuting Initiatives
Vehicle exhaust is a primary cause of both ground-level ozone (smog) and fine particles (soot). Fewer cars and trucks on the road mean improved air quality.
Commuting alternatives are available in central Indiana to offer the flexibility needed to help employers and employees make small changes in their behavior.
OUR BUSINESS WILL MAKE THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYEE COMMUTING COMMITMENTS:
- Consider setting up pre-tax savings accounts for transit and carpooling expenses - Appoint an Employee Transportation Coordinator who will be a liason between Central Indiana Commuter Services (CICS) and our employees - Host a CICS commuting fair for employees to provide information about commuting options through IndyGo and CICS - Encourage carpooling by offering employee incentives - Encourage biking to work by providing bike racks - Offer one or more of the following flexible daily work scheduling options to empoyees: telework, flextime or a compressed work week
