Air pollution affects us all. But even the smallest lifestyle change or new business policy can help make a big difference in the quality of the air we breathe. That's why the city created the Central Indiana Clean Air Partnership (CICAP).
CICAP is an initiative of the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability. Its purpose is to help Indy businesses work together to improve our air quality. It's a simple, voluntary and flexible way to make a positive impact on our air.
Why is CICAP's work so important? Because in addition to the obvious environmental impact, clean air means a better business climate for our city. Our economic development is linked directly to perception as a clean, healthy place to live and work.
New members are always welcome at CICAP, and joining is easy. You simply register your organization and choose cicap program elements that are right for it.
For more than a decade, the Knozone program, another initiative of the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability, has educated central Indiana residents, businesses and organizations about the health effects associated with air pollution and has encouraged everyone to adopt voluntary clean air strategies. Thanks to this collective effort, the region's air quality has been improving - and that's great news!
